He could delete all comments because of a mistake I made in the way comments were deleted. (Simply put it didn't properly check if you were the owner of the comment you wanted to delete)
I make daily backups of all the data so only a day worth of comments were lost and I learned from my mistakes which means it shouldn't happen again.
