depends on what you want to see, and if you understand japanese or not. i personally just use it for music and MADs, however if you understand japanese, you might be able to get more out of it.

By the way, for almost half a day now I'm unable to access nicovideo nor baidu, no mention on their Twitter about downtime...

the videos just go into economy mode, which meant the video's quality would be reduced so you could watch the video. other than that, everything else would just the same.
btw, you could access nicovideo though a vpn or proxy, because the japanese servers are seperate from the "overseas" servers. just make sure to set the virtual location to japan or use a japanese proxy. i think this also works for baidu, but i'm not sure.
